Ahhh, the Tourist Office. I think I want to paint up here again. Alice, you did a wonderful job of keeping things organized. My sanity, is forever greatful to you.
Made everyones coffee for them. Been a while since I made everyones individually, so if I forgot something specific, just give me a yell. Not saying it's gonna be fast right now, but I'll remember for the next time. Might do some sorting of the Archives from the computer up here.
Also, where would everyone like lunch from today? I'll put the order in around 11:30 so it's here by noon. |

Someone doesn't like cameras...
I can't believe she's almost a week old. Tosh has stolen Akira back the last few days, but I ninja her away while she showered. Hence the video. Apparently though, Mom is a better crowd.
That aside, I'm not looking forward to going back to work soon... |

Room is done. Clothes are folded and hung up. Only thing missing is the little one.
Usually work keeps me distracted through the day, but things have been slow. All my work is done for the most part, no meetings in London...
I wanna play hookie from work the rest of the afternoon. |

Four hour meeting. I think I lost my voice yelling at them. However, our budget is higher now, the people in the building are going to have proper training in case something happens in London and needs to be contained...
Todd has informed me I look like I got run over. And the staff from down the hall, keeps glaring into my office. I hope Weevils eat them. |

I thought all was well. Came into work this morning to find out my secretary Gladys passed in her sleep Saturday evening. She was 70... Told me she wanted to work till she dropped. Good on her.
So this means they're sending me someone new tomorrow.

It's weird, getting up in the morning and driving to London instead of a few blocks over. The drive is boring as hell, but I think I'll get used to it. Rather nice office here. Bigger then I expected.
Best part of the first day was walking into the meeting. See, I knew they'd have something to say about my age, however I shut them up right quickly and tortured them for four hours with my research and a large chart of things they need to fix, improve and do away with all together.
I'm not going to have many friends here now, but I could care less. I have plenty of them back home. Leaving early tonight to come and do some work at the Hub and pick up Tosh. Thursday here, I have to go and have a look at their Archives.
I'm scared... If their system is anything like Jack's was I might have to quit. I use the phrase lightly however. I still some head knocking to do here. |

Suppose a real update is in order. Haven't thought to make one with Tosh's little day by day quiz. That and life has just been busy.
It's odd being on vacation. Granted I've had time off before, but most of it was spent in bed recovering from some idiot thing or the other. The house is coming along nicely, baby's room is almost done. I'd say another day of painting and moving things around and the house will be done.
I got the liaison job, so I'll be working in London some days, Cardiff others. Jack told me I didn't have to go till next week, but Tosh and I planned to go to London before the weeks out. I got a phone call about paper work that needs filling out next week, but I can get it done now and out of the way so I can just start in on them. There's no beating around the bush anymore. I tend to get a small joy in knowing I get to show them how flawed they really are.
Aside from all that, things are brilliant. Reminder to myself I need to get something for David's birthday. (I can't believe he's getting so big.)
I also need to put the final touches on that presentation. Vacation was nice while it lasted. |

Day 22: A recipe
Homemade Mac and Cheese
2 cups Macaroni of your choice
1 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese
1 1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar
1 1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Butter
1/4 cup Panko Bread Crubs
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Small Canned Ham
Boil water and cook Macaroni
In a sauce pan, cook all the ingrediants, except for the parmesan cheese, ham and bread crumbs. (I gave a rough idea of cheese and milk. I tend to add a little more of each until it thickens to my liking.) Stir until cheese is melted completely with butter and milk.
Chop up the ham into bite sized pieces.
Take a 13x9 casserole dish and spray it, pouring in your macaroni, then the ham, then pour the cheese mixture over the top until everything is covered nicely.
Sprinkle the bread crumbs and parmesan over the top and put in a 350o oven for 10-15 minutes or until the top looks nice and brown.
Homemade Garlic Bread
1 Loaf Italian Bread
1 Bulb of Garlic
1 1/2 Cup of butter
Put the garlic and butter in a food processor until smooth. Spread on italian bread. Put in 350o oven for 10 minutes. Add cheese if desired.
I just thought the two go well together. |
